Lastly, in the season finale, Cassie fully portrayed Maddy in hopes to win over Nate. The audience was truly able to see the obsession and infatuation Cassie had developed for Nate. In this episode, the montage of Cassie vigorously getting ready at 4 am for school further highlights the lengths she’ll go to for an ounce of his attention. While cosplaying Maddy in episode 5, Cassie’s identity crisis becomes apparent, along with her main focus on receiving validation and love from Nate ( Jacob Elordi). This is a turning point in the show where the audience can see Cassie is losing herself. Her style choice evoked the iconic, and TikTok trending, line from Maddy, “B***h, you better be joking,” after asking if she looks like a country music star in a good way or a bad way. The ‘Oklahoma’ inspired outfit in episode 3 caused various reactions from the other characters. The rhinestones on her lid were a change from the softer looks she had back in season 1. This look was the first glimpse into the makeup playing a large role in the emotions of the characters, as Davy mentions was a major theme this season. Her disappointment in herself and the immense amount of fear she had knowing that she has betrayed her best friend, Maddy. Lexi does not shy away from the smokey black liner and deep berry lips with her newfound confidence and romance budding with Fezco.Ĭassie’s ( Sydney Sweeney) makeup evolution has portrayed her ultimate downfall and consistent manic episodes throughout season 2.Ĭassie’s makeup in the first episode showcased the multitude of emotions she was experiencing. Her makeup starts to mirror her life as she becomes involved with a more dark and mysterious character. Their relationship is the typical good girl/bad boy romantic trope. Towards the end of season 2, we see Lexi becoming more involved with Fezco ( Angus Cloud). In this scene, Lexi expresses that she does not have the confidence to wear bold looks like Maddy, to which Maddy responds “the thing about confidence is nobody knows if it’s real or not.” It is at this point in the show that you can start to notice Lexi becoming more expressive with her makeup looks. Euphoria’s makeup artist, Donni Davy, states “instead of fake lashes on her lower lash line, it felt more Lexi-like for her to have drawn on her own unique version of something reminiscent of fake lashes.”Ī pivotal scene in Lexi’s makeup choices is during the play when the audience is taken back a moment with Maddy ( Alexa Demie) while she was doing her makeup. The progression of her looks starts with her Twiggy-inspired purple eyeshadow and graphic lower lash liner. As the season progresses, Lexi’s makeup tends to get darker and bolder as she begins incorporating dark eyeliner looks and deep berry lip colors. Lexi is known for her soft girl aesthetic that features minimal makeup-with the exception of an occasional red lip. Lexi’s ( Maude Apatow) makeup has changed drastically from the beginning of season 2.
